the best way i overcame this problem is by not using airmon-ng at all… :P
#ifconfig wlan0 down
thats all there is to it….!!! :)
monitor mode gets enabled in the name “wlan0″ itself..!!!
and if u notice….i m not using mon0 in airodump-ng… :)
it works 100%…n skips all that annoying avahi daemons :)

anyway…”ifconfig wlan0 up” wont help if u have 2 reverse the process..!!!
jus do the same drill..
#airmon-ng stop wlan0
